Join us at the Black Food Bookstore & Culture Shop on Monday, May 19th, 2025 at 6:30 PM for a special evening as we commemorate the centennial of Malcolm X’s birth.

We’ll be hosting a free screening of the film Malcolm X (1992), directed by Spike Lee and starring Denzel Washington—a powerful portrayal of one of the most transformative figures in American history.

Following the screening, we’ll open up space for a community discussion as we reflect on Malcolm X’s enduring legacy, his impact on Black consciousness, and what his message means today, 100 years later.
