Happy Anniversary!

On Saturday, December 21st, 2019 we opened the first bona fide retail store for Black Food Bookstore and Culture Shop. I say this because we have been in existence since 2007. First, as an online bookstore and weekly online news magazine. During this time we would vend at community fairs and events. We also became very active politically with grassroots organizing.

Eventually, we opened a bookstore on Market Street and there we launched BlackFood TV where we worked with a cadre of politically conscious persons to broadcast live online shows covering a wide range of topics affecting the black community locally, regionally, and internationally.

Over the years, we continued with grassroots organizing by leading marches and rallies, working on committees to host panel discussions, hosting community movie nights etc. We also hosted quarterly African themed pop up events.

Finally in 2019 we made a long held dream of ours a reality with the opening of our flagship store on Robinson Road and East Street that combined all the activities that we had been active with over the years.

Of course, we've had our share of challenges as entrepreneurs but the countless achievements that we've attained drive our passion to keep serving you while innovating our brand.

We have a lot more products and services that we intend to roll out in the coming weeks, months, and years ahead so get ready to be wowed!
