Cuban Revolution: 60th Anniversary

Tonight we celebrated the 60th anniversary of the communist revolution with the people of Cuba, the Cuban Ambassador to The Bahamas, and friends of Cuba.
 

On January 1, Cuba will mark the 60th anniversary of the communist revolution that brought the late and enigmatic leader Fidel Castro to power. The revolution began in July 1953, and continued sporadically until the rebels finally ousted Fulgencio Batista on 31 December 1959, replacing his government with a socialist state.
